Pablo Mariano is an Argentinian musician, craftsman, and designer; living and working in Vancouver, BC, Canada. He holds a bachelor's in Composition from Universidad Catolica Argentina (Argentina) and a master's degree in Design from Emily Carr University of Art + Design (Canada), and for the last eleven+ years, he's been passionately working and training himself within the crafts.
In 2010—out of curiosity and a lack of budget to afford expensive musical instruments—he started making electric guitars at the balcony of his apartment in Buenos Aires. A year later, he opened his first shop, where he made custom-order guitars, and In 2012 he went into millwork and furniture design and manufacturing along with two friends. Since then, Pablo has been working mainly in wood and metal and nurturing his passion for crafts. In 2019 he left Argentina to pursue his master's degree in Vancouver, Canada, where he established his new shop in August 2022.
Within this new venture, Pablo is deepening on the production of his work by using hand tools exclusively. After the years, his goal remains the same as the very first day: to always pursue the joy found in the work and the creative practice while trying to make a living out of that.
Pablo Mariano es un músico, artesano, y diseñador argentino que vive y trabaja en Vancouver, BC, Canadá. Es Licenciado en Composición de la Universidad Católica Argentina (Argentina), tiene un Master en diseño de Emily Carr University of Art + Design (Canadá), y durante los últimos once+ años trabajó y se entrenó apasionadamente en distintos oficios.
En 2010—por curiosidad y falta de presupuesto para costear instrumentos musicales caros—, Pablo comenzó a hacer guitarras eléctricas en el balcón de su departamento en Buenos Aires. Un año más tarde abrió su pimer taller, dónde hizo algunas guitarras por encargo y, en 2012 se acercó a la carpintería y el diseño y fabricación de muebles junto a dos amigos. Desde ese entonces, Pablo ha estado trabajando principalmente con madera y hierro y cultivando su pasión por los oficios. En 2019, dejó Argentina para perseguir su título de Master en Vancouver, Canadá, donde abrió su nuevo taller en Agosto de 2022.
En este nuevo emprendimiento, Pablo está profundizando en la producción de su trabajo a través del uso exclusivo de herramientas de mano. Con el correr de los años, su meta sigue siendo la misma que en aquel primer día: perseguir la satisfacción y realización encontrada a través del trabajo y la práctica creativa y tratar, a la vez, de ganarse la vida a través de esa búsqueda.
